Botanical Characteristics
This evergreen shrub grows 1–2 meters tall with smooth, green stems and narrow, lance-shaped leaves. The foliage is soft and aromatic when crushed. Small white or pale purple flowers form at the tips of branches. It grows well in partial shade and moist, well-drained soil.
Use in Thai Traditional Medicine
In Thai herbal practice, the leaves of เสลดพังพอนตัวผู้ are used both externally and internally to reduce inflammation and pain. Poultices made from crushed leaves are applied to insect stings or sprains, while decoctions are used to relieve body aches and arthritis symptoms.
