Som Tum (ส้มตำ) - Green Papaya Salad
A refreshing and tangy salad made from shredded green papaya with a spicy kick.
Ingredients
- 1 cup shredded green papaya
- 5 cherry tomatoes halved
- 1/4 cup green beans cut into pieces
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1-2 fresh chilies crushed
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 2 tbsp peanuts crushed
- 1 tbsp dried shrimp
Instructions
- In a mortar, pound garlic and chilies. Add dried shrimp and peanuts, lightly pounding to combine.
- Add green beans, cherry tomatoes, and shredded papaya. Add fish sauce and lime juice, then mix well.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra peanuts if desired.
Notes
Best served fresh with a wedge of lime on the side.
