Tom Yum Goong (ต้มยำกุ้ง)
A spicy and sour soup with aromatic herbs, featuring shrimp and traditional Thai flavors.
Ingredients
- 250 g shrimp peeled and deveined
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 stalk lemongrass chopped
- 3-4 kaffir lime leaves torn
- 1- inch piece galangal sliced
- 3-4 Thai chilies crushed
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 100 g mushrooms sliced
Instructions
- Bring the broth to a boil. Add lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, and Thai chilies.
- Add shrimp and mushrooms. Simmer until shrimp is cooked.
- Season with fish sauce and lime juice. Serve hot.
Notes
Serve with extra lime and fresh cilantro if desired.
