Shopping in Phuket: what guests actually need

When you stay in an apartment with your own kitchen, a good supermarket matters as much as a boutique. This guide covers where to stock up, where to browse on a rainy afternoon, and where to find local crafts rather than souvenirs.

Supermarkets and essentials

For everyday things, Kamala village has minimarts and small shops. For a bigger shop, Big C Supercenter Patong, inside the Jungceylon complex, has fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, seafood, familiar brands and household goods across two bright, spacious floors.

Central Patong is a compact, calmer mall near Patong beach with boutique fashion and a Tops food hall.

Central Phuket Festival

A rainy afternoon

Central Phuket: Festival and Floresta

The island’s largest shopping destination is two linked malls near Phuket Town. Central Festival covers everyday fashion, electronics, international brands and gourmet essentials.

Central Floresta, connected by a glass skywalk, is calmer and more design-led, with luxury brands and an upmarket food hall. Both are air-conditioned and ideal when the rain sets in.

Something local

Crafts, textiles and gifts

For things you will not find at home, head to the Old Town, where small boutiques sell handmade jewellery, Thai textiles, antiques and local art. The weekend and Sunday markets are good for crafts, clothing and snacks.

Bargaining is normal at markets, but always politely and with a smile. In shops and malls, prices are fixed.
